The Water and Sanitation Program (international partnership administered by the World Bank) released a report on water and sanitation services in poor urban areas.
Under the title Guidance notes on services for the urban poor: a practical guide for improving water and sanitation services, this reports identifies the barriers to service delivery in poor urban areas in the Global South and gives practical recommendations to overcome these barriers, such as enhanced participation of the population or adequate connexion and cost-recovery procedures.
